When it started getting dark outside the Dog Library, Margaret closed the paw print curtains. Most of the dogs went home, but a few dogs gathered together for dance night.
One two three. Paw stepping. Four five six. Tail wagging.
Scented dance moves
They had a few favorite dance routines.
Each dance had a different scent and doggy move. Like the Cinnamon Spin, the Walnut Wiggle, the Lavender Leap, and the Jelly Jump. There was also the Tennis Ball Tango and the Peanut Pounce.
Fragrant fans
Rocky and Sandy, who fell in love at the Dog Library, liked spinning to salty scents.
They especially liked the Walnut Wiggle and the Peanut Pounce. Rocky put a paw on Sandy’s waist and spun her around. Sandy felt dizzy at first, but then she smelled potato chips and pickles and spun around some more.
Mop and Puddle liked staying close to each other. They danced to Candied Cuddles and Nighttime Nuzzles. Mop showed Puddle the Candy Cane body Roll. But Puddle was always a little damp, so her dances got a bit sticky.
Margaret, the head librarian, and Scout, the head chef, also found love in the dog library. They liked dancing to minty scents, like the Spearmint Shuffle. At the end of the night, they liked Tennis Ball Twirling.
The last dance
The last dance was the Peppermint Pause.
Margaret nudged all the dogs out of the Dog Library until the next morning, when they came back to sniff stories.
